is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a rapidly growing organization focused on the manufacturing & sale of sustainable wood products.
The Senior Accountant reports directly to the VP of Finance and is responsible for overseeing other accounting staff.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing complex financial records and reports and overseeing accounting operations from inputting, reconciling and processing invoices, expense reimbursements, credit cards and bank transactions to preparing financial statements and reports.
The candidate should have a drive and desire to learn while supporting the successful growth of the organization.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or relevant field required Strong computer skills including working with spreadsheets (knowledge of MAC a plus) QuickBooks experience required Ability to meet tight deadlines High level of personal integrity & proven work ethic Strong analytical skills 5
years of Accounting experience Proficient Knowledge of Finance Statements, AP & AR processes Must be an effective communicator - both verbally and in writing - at all levels and enjoy working in a team environment Ability to protect and maintain sensitive and confidential information Entrepreneurial-minded, driven to succeed and a commitment to driving results Self-starter who can work independently within existing processes Effective time management skills needed to manage responsibilities across several tasks CPA license a plus Grace under pressure Positive attitude RESPONSIBILITIES Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance Complete registration for sales tax in various states as needed & perform monthly reconciliation of sales tax account to ensure accurate reporting Complete month-end, quarter end and year-end financial statements and other reporting items accurately and timely Prepare monthly closing journal entries and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts Manage monthly reconciliation schedules, such as, but not limited to fixed asset and accrued liabilities ledgers Perform various analysis on specific General Ledger accounts and budget to actual reports Assist in gathering and compiling the information for quarterly budget reviews and annual budgeting Compile data and schedules required for audits and tax filings Management of bookkeeping and other accounting staff as needed Updates job knowledge by seeking and participating in educational opportunities Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue Prepare documentation for external auditors Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the VP of Finance if necessary Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist the VP of Finance in running auditsreSAWN TIMBER co.
